SPOONIE: Cipro I hate you

You know that saying, "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger?" Well its not always true. Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic used to treat infections (In my case a complex UTI that won't go away) and it hasn't killed me but it has left me feeling like shit. In one way, I should be proud that I have ticked off all of the common side effects, and a good few of the uncommon but not life threatening ones.

I have the shakes, I feel nauseous (although thanks to that anti-emetics I am keeping them down just feeling sick). I have the worst heartburn known to mankind (and my prescription for this has had to be ordered! So no relief until tomorrow ...). I am itching head to toe, and I mean in every part of my body. I have these horrendous cramps in my calves, that literally have me jumping out of bed screaming.

Why am I sharing this? Because that's what I do. I share my life here. I share the good and the bad, and at the moment its bad. Since I left my full time job to work on the bank (a zero hours contract, but I book the shifts as and when I feel up to it) a set back like this gets me worried. Worried that I will have to dip into my savings etc.

Alas, for now I am going to take to my bed, watch trash on youtube and hope I wake up feeling better tomorrow!

Do you know I have a fashion blog? Read it here

  1. I hope it gets better for you soon Charlotte. Being on meds that have bad side effects is rubbish. I'm on some at the moment which aren't agreeing with me, but seeing this post has totally put my issues into perspective. Going to be thinking of you xx
