SPOONIE: What I did on holiday when I needed a recharge!

After staying awake from 3pm on the Monday and not getting my head onto a pillow until 4am on the Wednesday, give or take a few naps in between, my holiday started with a really bad fibro flare. It forced me to admit that I definately don't have as many spoons as I used to and although I have felt well lately there's this shadow always hanging over me and if I don't take care of myself it will strike.

So I took a self care day and this is what I did ...

After going downstairs for breakfast, I went back to my room, got into my rugrats pjs, hung a do not disturb sign on the door and slept. A glorious 5 hour nap that left me feeling like I had been engulfed by a cloud. I had the air con set to the coolest it could go so that I could snuggle under the duvet. Please tell me I'm not the only one that no matter what climate has to snuggle down? 

On rising, I changed into some comfy clothes and went down for lunch. Ordered two large orange Fantas to take back to the room and once again snugged back down in bed. I listened to Jes Bakers audio book and I promise you if you are struggling with body confidence you need to give it a listen, it has changed my life! I fell asleep and woke up a few chapters later and had to start again! Oops!

After my second nap of the day I decided a bit of skincare was in order and so I smothered this mask on and covered my whole body in the derma v10 coconut body butter. I just kind of lay on the bed for about half an hour, staring at the ceiling letting it all sink in before it was time to wash the mask off (and potentially ruin one of the hotels nice fluffy towels oops) 

After dinner, I sat chatting for a while before I declared myself too tired and trotted off to bed.

I'm sharing this because I want people to know that sometimes it's ok to not be abe to be energetic. I'm really lucky to have a husband who doesn't make me feel guilty when I need some dmtime to recharge my batteries. On this day he took nana out to see one of the cities, and I was grateful not to be made feel guilty for staying.
