SPOONIE: I've been in hospital again!

Yes the joys that are spoonie life you frequently end up in hospital. Usually with no answers and more frustrations. You may have remember that at the beginning of last month I ended up in the hospital for a brief 12 hour visit involving a bag of fluid, some IV antibiotics and some IV anti sickness. I then ended up on a week long course of Ciprofluxicin which can I point out is the absolute devil. Yes it cleared up my Urine Infection (which was previously refusing to die despite two other antibiotics) but it also gave me sickness, heartburn, thrush and itching in every last part of my body imaginable. That was a grim week I will tell you that.

Anyway, this time I went to my GP after having two days of on off dizzy spells, fainting and palpitations. He decided to send me in to be checked over ... and I ended up on one of the wards I work on a lot, which at first was daunting but all the staff looked after me so well. I always expect doctors to not believe me. In may last year I had an awful experience with a consultant who basically accused me of just wanting drugs and yelled at me in front of all the other patients and I think I have put off going to anyone about my symptoms since becuase I have been scared. However both the cardiologist and the respiratory consultant I saw took me seriously and after thorough tests and 8 seperate blood tests I was sent home with a letter asking my GP to refer me to some specialists.

So thats where I am at now. My GP wants me to have a few more bloods which are booked in for next week and then she will be making the necessary referrals. I am skeptical as to whether this will become a disgnosis as there are so many thoughts and ideas that have been banded about by different doctors etc as to what is actually wrong with me - but at least I finally feel like no one is denying there is something wrong. Everytime in the past I have had blood in my urine, or raised CRP the doctors say its nothing. This doctor however noted that these bloods etc have been off for over a year and nothing has been done.

If you made it this far thanks for reading! I am off to start a symptom diary and hopefully get some answers soon!
