Why Self Care is what 2017 is all about for me


New year is a great time for reflections right? I recently read a thread on Twitter from a GP talking about why she thinks so many celebrities have died so young this year and one of the things she talked about was stress as a silent killer. How people wear their stress and busy lives almost as a badge of honour, brag about how little sleep they can survive on and these things are killing us off.

You may or may not know that I work nights Tuesday to Thursday and I used to feel bad that my housework doesn't get done etc but you know what there's more to life than a spotless house! I generally am in bed for 9am and sleep until 4 or 5 then get up and eat and bathe before going back to work. Some of the nurses I work with have 2 or 3 hours sleep in the day and I used to feel almost guilty. Guilty for giving my body the rest it needs? How silly 

My diet is another area where I need to ignore all the advice I get given. Like I've said before with my IBS I need to learn what upsets me and what doesn't and everyone is different.

I am going to become and expert on me! How does that sound?
